Rachael Forder
Founder and Creative TherapistRachael is a creative therapist. She is a registered music therapist with the HCPC. Alongside her therapy work, she also likes to keep up with a bit of work as a community musician and private music teacher.
Rachael grew up in Kent and moved to York for her undergraduate degree to train initially in Music. She then moved to Cambridge to pursue a masters in Music Therapy. Rachael is passionate about how powerful music is and loves to share this with others. She first worked as a music therapist at a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities school in Cambridgeshire for a few years. But ultimately decided to start her own business to reach more people. This is what led her to creating ‘Cambridgeshire Music For Wellbeing’ (CMFW) in January 2024.
During the first year of CMFW, Rachael found that she needed more tools outside of music to support certain clients. From there, Rachael undertook further training in other creative therapy techniques such as Sandstory, Mask-making, clay, collage, and many more across the modalities of play, art, drama, movement and dialogue. These trainings and techniques enabled Rachael to support more clients and meet them where they are at. The creative domains allow us to delve deeper into the unconscious than words alone can do. Rachael began to offer creative therapy work in early 2025. She loves the diversity she can offer in sessions now and loves what she does!
Rachael made the decision to rebrand the business in late 2025 and relaunched the business under the new name of ‘Cambridgeshire Creative Art Therapies’ (CCAT) in early 2026.
Rachael’s specialist areas of work are in trauma in children and young adults, mental health and special educational needs in both children and adults.
